Google Project Jarvis. A new AI assistant to manage your browser

Introducing Project Jarvis. An AI designed to automate everyday web tasks: Google’s Project Jarvis takes action-based AI to the next level.

Google is working on a new artificial intelligence system aimed at simplifying daily web tasks for users. The project, called Jarvis, is designed to “take over the browser” and perform tasks independently. According to sources from The Information, Project Jarvis may be showcased as soon as December.

Support for research, shopping, and booking

Powered by an advanced version of Google’s Gemini model, this tool will assist in various tasks like researching information, purchasing products, or booking flights autonomously. For now, Jarvis is reportedly designed to work exclusively within the Chrome browser.

How Project Jarvis works

Jarvis automates tasks by taking screenshots of webpages, interpreting their contents, then clicking or typing commands. In its current state, the system reportedly takes a few seconds between actions.

The race to develop action-based AI

Google isn’t the only tech giant investing in this technology. Microsoft with its Copilot Vision and Apple Intelligence are also developing action-assisted models for their platforms, allowing intuitive interactions with webpages.
