FABI, Federazione Autonoma Bancari Italiani, with over 108,000 members and 98 territorial branches, is the most representative banking union in Italy.

Established in Milan in 1948, in a historical period characterized by strong ideological opposition even in the trade union world, it has distinguished itself from the beginning as a non-denominational and non-partisan organization.

A choice of freedom and autonomy, avant-garde at the time, which however has not prevented it from drawing many inspirations from the social doctrine of the Catholic Church.

Its history is ancient and prestigious: it was, in fact, the only acronym to stipulate the first National Collective Labor Agreement for Italian bank workers with Assicredito in 1949.
